The Havenhurst Security Company is the private investigation firm where Laura Holt apprenticed before hanging out her own shingle as a private investigator. Throughout her tenure with it, she perceived her male co-workers there as taking most of the credit for their work, whereas it is believed that the firm viewed her as being too self-seeking for her own good and averse to teamwork. During the early, unsuccessful years when her firm was called Laura Holt Investigations, it is believed to have discouraged prospective clientele from placing her on retainer as its punishment for her apparent refusal to cooperate with others. Its reaction to a former white-collar confidence artist having assumed the identity of her nonexistent male superior at the firm now called Remington Steele Investigations has not been revealed in any of the instalments.
